Founder

Trice World News' founder is an award-winning journalist who has covered major events like the World Conference Against Racism in South Africa; September 11 terrorist attacks; and Haiti earthquake. Additionally, she has covered issues affecting women, minorities, LGBTQ community members, as well as issues that impact them; her work has appeared in various print and online publications such as Tavis Smiley Show and CNN among many others. Currently she resides just outside Chicago, Illinois.

Trice World News was established by Jack Trice, an Iowa State football player who died in an auto accident and who inspired Iowa State historian Dorothy Schweider to describe Trice's experiences during this racially segregated time in an article written for State History Journal. Unfortunately, people today find it hard to grasp all that Trice experienced while alive - especially considering racial barriers he experienced throughout his lifetime.

Carter Trice of Old Dominion infielder Carter Trice has been named to Collegiate Baseball's Preseason All-America Second Team for her performance last season with hitting.355 to help the Monarchs capture their first conference championship since 20 years. She will serve in her new capacity overseeing sales development, strategy, revenue generation and champion relations; supported by Anjali Varma who handles champion relations both reporting to Director of Champions Edie Fraser.

Hazel Trice Edney is an award-winning veteran journalist who founded Trice World News in 2010. In addition, she serves as editor-in-chief for Trice Edney News Wire and was once executive director for the National Newspaper Publishers Association Foundation. Additionally, Hazel has made several media appearances, such as CNN, Tavis Smiley Show, Bishop T.D. Jakes Potter's Touch program and The Al Sharpton Show.

Rashad Trice, charged in multiple local jurisdictions with killing 2-year-old Wynter Cole-Smith, will now come under the jurisdiction of Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel's office, which will consolidate charges of assaulting Wynter's mother, fleeing police, kidnapping her, and kidnap leading to Wynter's death into one case.

Trice graduated from Penn State's graphic design program in 1987 and spent 30 years as a magazine designer and contributor in New York, earning multiple Society of Publication Designer awards and Content Council Pearl Awards along with being honored on Time magazine's Green Design 100 list for furniture designs he had produced.

Trice's work attracted attention from within the entertainment industry and auditions were invited for him to appear on NBC's popular program, "The Tonight Show." There, Trice shared his talents and entertained audiences across America.

Trice was an avid reader and writer as a youth at Iowa State University's track and field team. Tragically, however, on Oct 8, 1923 from injuries sustained during a football game played the day prior in Minnesota he succumbed to internal trauma that caused internal organs to rupture from internal bleeding caused by injuries sustained at that game. Before dying he left behind a note to his family which has become widely circulated over time.

State Attorney General Dana Nessel is working in collaboration with Ingham County Prosecutor John Dewane, Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido and Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy to consolidate all charges against Trice into one prosecution. Her office will prioritize protecting both children involved as well as witnesses to this incident as they pursue this strategy of accountability against Trice for his actions.

Rashad Trice never imagined his story would gain such wide-spread interest. Iowa State Daily reporter Tom Emmerson discovered a plaque commemorating Trice in the gym and began asking around about him and his life story.

Trice was charged with sexual assault and kidnapping of 2-year-old Wynter Cole-Smith earlier this week on federal charges, as well as facing local jurisdictional charges regarding her mother, a police chase, and discovering her body in an alley in Detroit. Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced this week she is working closely with Ingham, Macomb and Wayne county prosecutors' offices to streamline these charges into one trial proceeding.

Nessel has encouraged residents in the area to remain calm despite these tragic circumstances, while she also requested that members of the public respect the privacy of Wynter Cole-Smith and all parties involved in her passing.
